Selkirk Elementary School 4th Graders have been showcased all week on the "Pledge of the Week" hosted by The Jay and Kevin Show of The Big 99.9 Coyote Country radio station. Each weekday morning a class recording of the Pledge of Allegiance is aired. Selkirk Elementary 5th graders will be on the week of October 21. You still have one day to tune in to hear the 4th graders this week and then dial back October 21-25! We'd like to thank The Big 99.9 Coyote Country show and its parent affiliate, KXLY, for giving our students this opportunity!
It’s Homecoming and Spirit Week at Selkirk High, and the school is overflowing with spirit! Students filled the hallways with streamers, lights, and decorations, and each day of the week has a different dress-up theme. Assemblies in the gym are full of silly games and friendly competitions between classes. Students and staff are having so much fun showing Ranger spirit! This exciting week wraps up with a 7:00pm football game vs Republic on Friday night. Homecoming royalty will be announced at half-time, and a semi-formal dance will wrap up the evening. Go Rangers!!
Selkirk Elementary School's Pumpkin Family Night will be held on Wednesday, October 23 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. for students in grades TK-5 with fun, learning stations and donuts from Donnie-O's! This year we are in need of pumpkin donations to give away to students as door prizes. If you are interested donating pumpkins, please drop them off at the elementary school by October 18. Thank you!
Paper Flowers, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band, performed for the high school music students yesterday! It was a memorable show, and in addition to enjoying fantastic music, students were able to interact with the band, ask questions, and learn what it's like to be a professional musician. This was definitely an enriching experience for our music students. Thank you to the Selkirk Humanities Foundation & the Cutter Theatre for making this event possible!
🌟 Exciting September Adventures with Selkirk Rangers! 🌟
This month, our students are diving deep into engaging outdoor learning experiences! Our 3rd graders ventured to Box Canyon with Mrs. Degeest to learn about frogs and other pond life from PUD Biologist Scott Jungblom! Meanwhile, Mrs. Sage and our 4th graders had a blast at the Lake Roosevelt Water Conservation Festival, where they learned about fire safety, beaver habitats, and played Water Jeopardy!
The excitement continued as 4th graders dissected owl pellets and our 5th graders took on squids! 🦉🐙
To top it all off, our Kindergartners are gearing up to lead the entire elementary school assembly with our inspiring SMART choices mantra: Be kind, be courageous, be creative, have some grit, and lead on!

Selkirk School district recently received information from the State Road Department that the Lost Creek bridge will be closed starting Monday 10/7/24 for emergency repairs. There will not be any traffic allowed south past the bridge on HWY 20. The Selkirk school bus will turn around at the construction site and the road department is planning to have a walking area that students could access from the south side. The estimated time frame is 3 to 5 days. You will need to check with the DOT web page at: www.wsdot.wa.gov for more information. We've been advised that it has not been update at this time.

Selkirk Elementary School is hosting a Welcome Back to School Open House on Wednesday, August 21 from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. for students in grades 1-5. Students and families can bring school supplies, meet the teacher, get busing questions answered, and pick up registration paperwork. Please note the new time of 4:00 -5:00 p.m. This is an informal Sneak Peek event so stop by anytime during that hour! We can't wait to see you! Students in Kindergarten or Transition Kindergarten will have one-to-one meetings throughout the next two weeks. Please call the office starting August 19 if you do not have an appointment time.
Back to school time! 6th and 9th grade families - please plan to join us for the upcoming Selkirk Middle/High School Orientations in the school cafeteria on Wednesday, August 21. 6th grade at 6:00pm, and 9th grade at 6:30pm. Students will get their class schedules, meet their teachers, and complete office and athletic paperwork. See you there!
